Renovation of Paris/Industrialization
After the war, Paris was completely renovated and remodeled. Napoleon commissioned the Baron Haussmann Plan which would renovate streets and boulevards, buildings, public parks, sewers and water works, city facilities, and public monuments in an urban way. This plan improved the quality of life in the capital, disease epidemics ceased, traffic circulation improved and the new buildings were better built. After the Franco Prussian war there was a huge explosion of people living in Paris, meaning there was a lot of new people and new traditions, that the people living there for a long time hadn't experienced before. The artists that had already began to draw what the human eye saw and they began to include landscapes and cityscapes in their art. Industrialization had begun and there were many new inventions and advances in technology, for example many new factories, new chemical and manufacturing and iron production processes, improvements in water efficiency, the development of machine tools, and the increased use of steam power.
